About The Project
EH Group® were asked to devise a scheme to increase the number of cast chamber burial spaces utilising green open space in the north west quadrant of Lambeth cemetery.
The brief required adapting a sympathetic approach with the existing burial chambers and a design which was consistent with the existing burial chambers yet at the same time optimising the area of land to maximise the number of new burial chambers.
The final design submitted by Eh Group® created 47 new burial chambers and work commenced in started in late September 2015. The completed project was handed back to Lambeth District Council in December 2015 ahead of time and on budget.
What the client had to say
“I had the pleasure of working with Karl and his team on an underground burial chamber project at one of our cemeteries in Lambeth. I’m not sure how best to describe EH Group – they were flipping marvellous! Their product is (in my opinion) a market leader in terms of quality. The burial chambers look good, but it’s what you don’t see that is remarkable – the quality of concrete / reinforcement and drainage system were really important things for me on this project and Karl and his team were really good at being able to satisfy our requirements. During the construction phase of the scheme I have not seen a contractor so committed to their method statement and health and safety – the site they kept was immaculate I don’t believe we got a single complaint in the cemetery and that is not an easy thing to achieve. At the end of the project they handed site back to me – I was basically shocked at how good it looked!”
“Brilliant work and most importantly – thanks for listening to the client”.
