About The Project
EH Group® was brought in to develop new memorial gardens from an area of open land measuring approximately 2500 square meters. The site had a gentle gradient sloping down to an access road and was bounded on one side by a drainage ditch that had become vastly overgrown.
Water retention on the land was a major issue so the plans included installing the EH Group® drainage system (EHGDS).
Plans included extensive new footpaths around the site and the design and construction of a foot bridge over the main drainage dyke which in appearance was to have a black cast iron structure.
The drainage scheme required the existing dykes around the site to be retained and the inclusion of a new pond to serve as a natural feature to the gardens.
Thus was a challenging project, a vast area if land with major drainage issues and budget restraints meant we consistently had to change and adapt our plans to ensure the project was complete within the remit.
